Nick Carle and Marcos Flores First Ever JWFF Ambassadors

The Johnny Warren Football Foundation is pleased to announce its first ever ambassadors, former Adelaide United star and reigning Johnny Warren medallist, Marcos Flores and current Sydney FC star and 2006/2007 Johnny Warren medallist, Nick Carle.

Flores and Carle will help promote the work of the Foundation throughout the country and abroad while working with the Foundation to help develop our programs. With both players winning the A-League’s prestigious Johnny Warren Medal it is a good fit for the Foundation.

Lisa Middlebrook, CEO of the Foundation was excited about the announcement.   “We are so pleased to bring these two wonderful players into our team. They are very dedicated to helping the Foundation achieve its goals and we are excited they want to give back to the game by working with the JWFF,” said Middlebrook.

Meanwhile, Flores is thrilled to be working with the Foundation and continuing the legacy of Johnny Warren. “I regret not having the opportunity to meet Johnny, but one thing I am sure of is everything he said, lived and felt was for the good of the beautiful game.”

“Without knowing his legacy in my first months of being in Australia they spoke of him and I felt the emotion of his journey,” added Flores.

Flores was a guest at the Foundation’s Gala Dinner this year in Sydney and worked with the Foundation to help some of Western Sydney’s most underprivileged kids. The clinic was a huge success and formed the basis for how the current Indigenous program runs.

Nick Carle was also thrilled, expressing a similar desire to help spread the word of the Foundation and keep Johnny’s legacy alive, he said “the Foundation is doing some great work and I’m happy to be a part of something that Johnny would have loved.”

Both ambassadors will be getting straight to work with a series of activities the first of which will see them attending an ambassador’s luncheon with proceeds from the lunch going straight to the Foundation.

As part of his visit, Flores will attend a clinic for underprivileged Indigenous children in the Redfern area. All media are welcome to attend but must organise with the Foundation first.
