Tom Sermanni

Australia

Tom is the head coach for the Australian Women's Nationals Team, also known as the Matildas. Tom was the Matildas coach between the years of 1994 -1997 and then was reappointed in 2005.

A native of Scotland, Tom played in the Scottish and English leagues in the 70's and 80's before moving to Australia in 1983 to play for Marconi Stallions and later with Canberra City SC.

Tom has been a  coach for Canberra Cosmos, San Jose Cyber Rays (USA), New York Power (USA) and served as director of football development in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.

In 2007 Tom won the Asian Football Confederation's women's team coach of the year award following the Matildas' breakthrough World Cup campaign.

Between coaching the Matildas, Tom had a series of coaching appointments in Australia, America, Japan and Malaysia.
