Jim Fraser (Goalkeeper Coach)
One of Australia's most highly regarded goalkeeper coaches, Fraser was the man between the sticks when the Socceroos qualified for their first FIFA World Cup in 1974.
The late John Warren, in his book "Sheilas, Wogs and Poofters" described Jim Fraser as one of the key ingredients in getting Australia to the 1974 finals. In Andy Harper's "The Socceroos .. Voodoo to Destiny" Mark Schwarzer names Jim Fraser as one of his key influences in his development as a goalkeeper.
Fraser has been instrumental in the development of many top Australian goalkeepers, including Sydney FC's regular custodian Clint Bolton.
Jim Fraser's personality, drive, skill and passion for the sport of football, has made him the most astute and in-demand goalkeeper coach.
In 2000, Jim Fraser established the Australian Goalkeepers Academy and since then his coaching duties have included the 2000 Olympics (Australian youth), international campaigns by the Socceroos (Australian Men) and Matildas (Australian Women), and National Soccer Leagues clubs namely Marconi Stallions, Sydney United and Parramatta Power.
Jim Fraser is currently engaged by Sydney FC competing in the A-League, for the coaching and development of Clint Bolton (Australian Men international) and Justin Pasfield (Australian Youth International). Players to having benefited from coaching by Jim Fraser include past and present international and "A" League goalkeepers - namely Clint Bolton, Liam Reddy and Justin Pasfield.
Jim provides his services free of charge to the Foundation to coach future goalkeepers, which is greatly appreciated by the Foundation.
