Johnny Warren lived for football, as an outstanding player and later as a visionary for the advancement of the “world game” in Australia.
His lifetime dream, of introducing young Australians to a healthy lifestyle through high quality soccer education from an early age, can now finally become a reality.
The Government of New South Wales established the Johnny Warren Football Foundation, an independent company, and has generously provided an initial capital base by donating $1.5 million.
This has enabled the company to commence the first program in early 2006 and start to implement Johnny Warren’s ideas of the modern game. For the program to become a success it needs continuity and it needs ongoing funding. I hope and trust that the community will provide the funds for the benefit of our talented young players.
